JULIEANN WORRALL-HOOD
Drawing and sketchbooks are the basis of Julieann’s work. She particularly loves to sketch quickly from life and hopes to capture the essence of her subject in her sketches and sketch sculptures. The scribbly wire sculptures and wall mounted reliefs of hares in motion are part of a series of sketch sculptures which also includes hens, dogs and figures.
Julieann’s work also encompasses sculpture, drawing, tapestry, installation, mosaic, landscape and theatre design. A Visual/Arts & Business selected artist, she is one of 150 artists nationally selected by a panel including experts from Arts Council England, Tate Liverpool, Arnolfi and Ikon Gallery as an assurance of quality, artistic merit and suitability for both commercial and domestic environments.
Julieann particularly enjoys participating in collaborative and interdisciplinary projects and is known for her work in public art, education and theatre. A regular contributor to visual arts outreach, exhibition staging and show design at the Watermill Theatre, Newbury. She has also worked on a major commission and residency at the V&A, London.
